PRIVATE CONNECTION
The entire Trendy Wine website is served via a secure, private connection using HTTPS. Data sent using HTTPS is secured via Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS), which provides three key layers of protection:
Encryption, Data integrity and Authentication.
SECURE CARD STORAGE
We partner with PayFast, a payments processing service for South Africans and South African websites. During checkout the customer is redirected to the PayFast secure website. Card details are not stored during checkout. Trendy Wine does not have access to your card details.
3D SECURE CARD PROTECTION
PayFast makes use of 3D Secure (Verified by Visa / MasterCard Securecode) for credit card transactions.
PASA has mandated that 3D Secure is implemented on all online credit card transactions (known as CNP or card not present), as of February 28, 2014.
3D Secure provides an extra layer of security by requiring that the cardholder submits a second level of authentication when shopping online.
Mastercard’s product is called “SecureCode” and Visa’s product is called “Verified by Visa”.
